DAY 8: AYTW2010
The DAY 8 being the last performance day of the AYTW2010, Delhi episode was the most important as it marked the successful culmination of the AYT WEEK AT DELHI. The event was full of amazing people…who joined in for the common love of theatre.
The super packed auditorium witnessed three plays. The first two performances for the day were by college theatre groups while the theatre week ended with the solo performance by renowned theatre artiste Lushin Dubey.
The play "UNTITLED" directed by Arvind Gaur starring Lushin Dubey is a powerful statement on women's sexuality and her struggle for liberation once she's bound in the role of a wife, a queen and most of all her duty of "being" a "woman" has been redefined by the playwright.
The play's imagery and performance was to the "T" and the spectacular show left everyone spellbound. The play "Untitled" has travelled across oceans and has seen an audience at over 300 places.
The day started with "FIRANGI LAUT AAYE" by HANSRAJ College in performance.
Next on the block was S.R.C.C. with its production titled "SAMAR".
The plays were well appreciated by the audience.
As it is said that the journey never ends…..
The AYTW2010, Delhi was a happy theatre experience. The experience was maddening in terms of hard work that went into it… it was a tremendous effort on part of our festival director KULJEET SINGH who roped in people from various walks and streams of life who came together for the "love of the theatre" and put their heart and soul into it…putting life into a theatre event and making it livelier by their gracious presence and sincere efforts.
Kudos to all who made this event a success story J
