AYTW 2010:DAY 3
STREET THEATRE DAY 2
The Atelier Youth Theatre week's Day 3 too had street theatre on its itinerary.
The event was held at Hindu College, University of Delhi. Three college teams showcased their talent through their performances and the social message was well communicated through their acts and means.
Festival director Kuljeet Singh introduced the days' event. Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce was the first to perform for the day. Their play named "Kyunki Main Hindu Hun!" was an eye opener as they spoke about the "identity crisis" of Indians and the question of how "secular" are we was well raised through the performance. The next on the scheme of the day was "Baazaar" presented by S.G.T.B.Khalsa College; the play through diverse representations depicted that how the value of a human body is no more than a commodity in today's world. "Kyun Karein" by Hindu College was a play which raised a very pertinent issue, the fact that each one criticizes the system but nonetheless does not want to initiate the action that will bring out the change. The "lack of effort on our part" is what outlined the play.
The plays were performed with great zest and were well appreciated.
The public forum for the participating teams of the day followed the performances. The public forum was initiated by Ms. Suchitra Gupta. The session was interactive and was fruitful as it made the teams know their weak points and the strategy to improve upon those.
